Samantha has ten years experience leading and managing corporate responsibility, organisational development and issues management assignments across corporate, government and non-profit sectors. Her expertise includes strategy, evaluation, benchmarking and criteria development, developing manager competencies to build trust with employees and identifying unique organisational cultural practices from which to leverage strength.
Prior to joining Net Balance, Samantha was with AccountAbility in the UK for three years, part of which as the Managing Director of Great Place to Work® Institute UK, based in London, including responsibility for the publication of the annual UK’s Best Workplaces list in the Financial Times. In 2004 Samantha advised the British Cabinet’s Leadership program on such issues.
In 2003, Samantha led the first AccountAbility Rating© at AccountAbility in conjunction with partners CSR network in the UK.
Samantha has held roles with Oxfam Australia in advocacy, developing a rights based criteria to assess Australian companies and their supply chains as well as executive management roles with Rehame (Media Monitors) during which she advised the Victorian ALP during their successful 1999 election campaign.

Throughout the 1990s, Alan was responsible for attending, analysing, and reporting the negotiated passage of the Kyoto Protocol for the national audience of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in his role as National Environment Correspondent. He has received Australia's most prestigious journalism award - the Gold Walkley and is the current senior deputy chairman of Environment Business Australia and a partner at Cambiar Pty Ltd

Sam Weiss - Deputy Chairman, GLG Corp Limited - Sydney
Sam Weiss has worked at Board level in Australia, Asia, Europe, and the United States. Sam is Deputy Chairman of GLG Corp Limited, a leading supplier of casual quality knitwear to very large US retailers, and a non-executive director of OrotonGroup Limited, the Australian fashion brand retailer, and Altium Limited, a global provider of software for electronics design. He is Chairman of Ecos Corporation and an independent Director of Canterbury of New Zealand Limited, the New Zealand based rugby apparel firm. Over the course of his career at large multi-national corporations such as NIKE, where he was the COO of Nike Europe, and Gateway Computers where he was VP, Asia and Sheridan, Sam has developed strong leadership skills and has a consistently proven ability to generate significant revenue and margin increases.
Sam is the President of the Harvard Club of Australia, an active mentor to senior level executives in the not-for-profit sector with Social Ventures Australia and a Director of The Benevolent Society and The Sydney Festival. He is a Fellow of The Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of The Sydney Institute. Sam is a graduate of the Sydney Leadership Programme.
Anita Mitchell - Head of Sustainability, Asia Pacific, Bovis Lend Lease - Sydney
Anita is responsible for leading the social and environmental sustainability efforts of Bovis Lend Lease across the Asia Pacific region. She is an Environmental Scientist with over 13 years of experience in sustainability and environmental management spanning the energy, water and waste sectors.
She was previously the General Manager Sustainability & Assurance with WSN Environmental Solutions (formerly Waste Service NSW); Principal Advisor Sustainability for Sydney Water; and Corporate Environment Manager for Integral Energy. In all of these leading organisations Anita has assisted in integrating sustainability into corporate strategy. Anita is currently President of the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand (NSW) and a member of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Greenpeace Australia Pacific. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and a Masters Degree in Environmental Management.
Jeff Angel - Executive Director, Total Environment Centre - Sydney & Melbourne
Jeff is the Executive Director of Total Environment Centre and is without doubt one of Australia's most vocal environmental activists He has been an environmental campaigner since 1973 on a wide range of issues including: urban sustainability, waste management, air pollution, public transport, forest protection, threatened species, coastal planning, corporate environmental sustainability and renewable energy. He was a key figure responsible for the introduction of lead free petrol in Australia and the high profile environmental successes to save the South East Forests and Snowy River.
Rodd Pahl - Managing Director, Blue Grass Consulting - Sydney & Melbourne
Rodd Pahl is Bluegrass Consulting’s founder and managing director has almost 30 years experience in public affairs and corporate reputation, nine as managing director of public affairs in global firm Burson-Marsteller. As one of Australia's leading public affairs practitioners, he advises CEOs, Boards and executives on corporate reputation, issues management and stakeholder engagement. Rodd has worked with a wide variety of private sector and government clients such as the privatisation of Telstra 1, Commonwealth Bank 3 and CSL as well as Toyota, GPT, AMP Capital Investors, Energy Australia, Thales, Stanwell Corporation, Stockland Group Trust, Minter Ellison and ACT Bushfires Recovery Taskforce.
Peter Netchaef - General Manager, Group Sustainability, Sims Group - Melbourne
Peter Netchaef is the General Manager, Group Sustainability for Sims-Group Limited, the largest recycling company in the world. In this capacity he holds senior corporate responsibility for all sustainability and environment issues within the Group and its more than 140 operations in 16 countries. He has been closely involved with the Australian UN delegation for more than 14 years and is a member of the Australian Policy Reference Group on Hazardous Waste and the Federal Task force on the Stockholm Convention among many other external activities.
A former mountaineer, he turned to civil engineering for a living and holds a Master’s degree in fluid dynamics and hydrology. He has held a number of senior commercial positions and worked extensively in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North and South America.
Peter Castellas - Managing Director, Clean Technology AustralAsia - Melbourne
Peter is the joint founder and Managing Director of Clean Technology AustralAsia. Throughout Peter's 20-year entrepreneurial career, he has worked at the leading edge of the sustainable development agenda and has advised leading corporations, governments and financial institutions. Peter has previously held roles including the Sustainability Advisor for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Head of International Business Development for Melbourne University Private, National Environmental and Engineering Manager for Dunhill Management Services and Managing Director of Cultural Diversity. Peter is currently a National Councilor for Environment Business Australia and a Director of Global Knowledge Ventures. He is a regular presenter at national and international conferences.
