An emerging global concern is the realisation that children live in a world
where the production and use of chemicals have changed the environment we live
in and not always for the better. Sadly it is children who are at great risk
from chemical exposures in the modern world. In recognition of the seriousness
of the problem the World Health Organisation (WHO) has just established the
first collaborating centre for research in children's environmental health with
the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, in Perth, WA. For
more details about the work the Telethon Institute will be doing over the coming
years download the report: www.ichr.uwa.edu.au/research/divisions/csc/docs/WHO_final.pdf
