Impact Report 2024-2025

For more than 5 decades, TEC has stood for one big idea: that nature and communities deserve a powerful voice. We’ve seen a lot of change, including positive change, but our purpose has remains constant, and we’ve never lost sight of why we fight. We protect the living systems we all depend on, champion the species we love, and work alongside people who believe a thriving environment is the foundation of a thriving future.
This year’s 2024–2025 Impact Report continues that story.
It shares the progress we’ve made, the challenges we are confronting, and the results achieved through persistence, collaboration, and evidence-driven advocacy. Over the past year, our campaigns have turned advocacy into action — building a safer climate and protecting biodiversity brick by brick through advancing the Blue-Green Grid for cooler, greener cities, expanding koala protections across Sydney, leading Australia’s response to microplastic pollution through AUSMAP, stopping waste, and more. Each achievement reflects our belief that real change is built on persistence, collaboration, and evidence.
This year, our work helped deliver:
- Expansion of koala protections across Sydney
- Real progress toward cooler, greener cities through the Blue-Green Grid
- National leadership on microplastic pollution through AUSMAP
- Action to cut waste and advance a circular economy
- Stronger environmental laws that safeguard habitats and species
And beneath each achievement is the beginning of what comes next.
Our recently launched 2024–2029 Strategy sets an ambitious path forward — restoring endangered species and critical habitats, strengthening environmental protections, defending urban nature, tackling pollution at the source, and building climate-resilient cities where people and wildlife can thrive.
These goals are bold. They are necessary. Because of your support, they are possible.
