NSW State Heritage Registry
The Heritage Council of New South Wales is currently considering the Mount Gilead Estate for State Heritage Registration.
A decision is based on an assessment of heritage significance and taking into account any submissions received from the public. Section 33 (3) of the NSW Heritage Act 1977 requires that the Heritage Council must be of the view that the item is of State heritage significance before it makes a Recommendation to the Minister.
We need your support for this nomination to protect this unique heritage landscape which has remained virtually untouched since the days of first contact and the original frontier wars of NSW between colonists and local indigenous people.
TEC and our allies in the local community, strongly believe this landscape should be preserved for future generations.
Ask your friends and family to write a letter or email or both. All you need to say is:
"I support the nomination of the whole of the Mount Gilead Estate, 901 Appin Road, Gilead, Campbelltown"

Stay tuned to TEC's Save Sydney's Koalas campaign for more info about making longer submissions. We will also be calling for a review of all the surrounding properties for SHR listing.
