Supporter Spotlight September 2026

Luke Parker
Sell & Parker Metal Recycling

We’re so grateful to Luke and his family for being part of our community and for caring so deeply about the environment and the need for lasting change.

Luke first got to know our Executive Director, Jeff Angel, many years ago, when Jeff was pioneering the campaign for a national Container Deposit Scheme (CDS). That connection led Luke to start supporting us, and he has continued as a regular donor ever since.

We asked Luke what drives his commitment to the environment and why he continues to support our team.

“As many of our family’s businesses focus on the environment, ie recycling and renewables, its natural that we pay close attention to environmental matters. Additionally, many of my recreational activities rely on our environment, whether it be snow skiing, surfing and sailing. I’d hate for our generation to be judged in the future as the group that soiled our wonderful planet for future generations.”

Luke’s support is also about backing the people he trusts to keep pushing for change.

“I’ve known Jeff Angel for many years through various industry bodies and programs. I’ve always been impressed with how everyone in the industry holds him in such high regard. He has the ear of the people that matter and I thought making a modest weekly donation might help him, and TEC, keep making an impact.”

Luke has seen the impact of long-term environmental advocacy firsthand, including through the campaign for a national Container Deposit Scheme.

“We were with Jeff from the beginning of the campaign for a national CDS, and what a fine scheme its grown to be. Without a doubt CDS is the success story of Producer Responsibility Schemes in Australia, and Jeff has been involved from the start.”

Today, Luke continues to support our team as a regular donor.

“My experience is TEC is full of good people doing good things for our environment. They share many of my concerns and have great access to the people that make decisions that will have impact. If you feel the same, think about a regular donation….a little each month doesn’t hurt, but it can have a lasting impact.”

Thank you, Luke, for standing with us and for sharing your story.

.

We also thank all our supporters who give us the strength to keep fighting for nature.
